Southern California race crew matching

Find your boat.
Find your crew.

Skippers post the positions they need. Crew post what they can do. We match you by marina, position, experience and schedule, from Marina del Rey to Newport.

How it works

Three steps to the start line

1

Create a profile in 2 minutes

Tell us whether you're crew or a skipper, plus a few basics. It's free.

2

Tell us how you race

Positions, experience, home marina, midweek or weekends. Skippers add boat type and size.

3

Get matched and go sailing

Club volunteers pair skippers with crew who fit. Contact details are only shared once both sides agree.

Never raced before?

Plenty of skippers will take a motivated novice. Pick "Novice" when you sign up and list any sailing classes you've taken, so skippers know where to start you.

Good to know

Questions sailors ask

Does it cost anything?

No. Crew Finder is free for skippers and crew.

What should I bring to my first race?

Soft-soled, non-marking shoes, layers and a windproof jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and gloves if you have them. Ask your skipper whether they supply life jackets, and arrive early so they can walk you through the boat.

Who sees my phone number and email?

No one, until a match is agreed. Your contact details are only shared with a skipper (or crew member) once both sides say yes.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes. Crew Finder sign-ups are for sailors 18 and older.

How do I update or remove my profile?

Email yrrc1329@gmail.com and a volunteer will update or delete it.
